An unforgettable experience: The SCI and Human Library




Happy sharing the joy of my friends, Pat and her husband Sam. They have run the SCI conference this afternoon (SCI stands for Services-Civil International). I heard over 10 people sharing their unforgettable moments in volunteering for the weak and the poor such as the orphans in Inner Mongolia, underprivileged in South Korea, the underserved school children in Nepal, fighting with the local diseases in Sri Lanka and so on. Their reflections made me believe that fraternity could draw all peoples close together and compassion heal us all.

The SCI volunteers from different part of the world to reach out different countries for the needy and develop deep friendship between peoples. The volunteers learn to embrace whatever differences in terms of ethnic, gender, classes, culture, religion, wealth, education and so forth.
